NaPoWriMo #1

This month I am following the NaPoWriMo and the A-Z Bloggers daily challenges. Each NaPoWriMo day you are given an optional prompt to follow and for the A-Z challenge you must write a blog post everyday (except Sundays) beginning with a letter of the alphabet. I’m thinking of these postings not as complete perfect examples of writing, but more first drafts of things that will be worked on later. I’m not stressing too much about the outcome, I’m just content to have some scribblings for the daily challenge. If you want to join in you can go to the NaPoWriMo site and sign up: http://www.napowrimo.net

So here we go:

NaPoWriMo #1

Prompt: A Poem which uses the first line of another poem.

Dead Mans Clothes on a Winter Line (Taken from A Heavy Coat by Teresa Kane in Moment a Poetry in Motion Community project publication)

Dead Mans Clothes on a Winter Line

Tinged by early morning frost

Bitten to the quick, the nails

That fumble

To unpeg, quickly

The grief

Before it solidifies.
